Shaking Japan with His Truth
We just finished another week of doing ministry in Tokyo. The Lord has certainly worked in amazing ways among our team. Our team has been able to share the gospel with many Japanese college students over the past couple of weeks. Our team has been placed on three different campuses: Hitosubashi, Gakuge, and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Conversations with students where tough initially however the Lord was reminding us that we were going to relay on his Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of the Japanese people. After the first few days the Lord leads us to many students who were interested to hear about the gospel. At the end of this week we had one Japanese girl come to know the Lord. Praise God for a faithfulness for allowing us to spread his word to the people want to hear and seeing this new sister come to get to know Jesus Christ.
We have been given the opportunity to serve at a homeless ministry in a park in Hirajuku, Tokyo during the past two Saturdays. There are over 100 homeless people who come out to this ministry. In the service we pray, worship, give a testimony, message, small group time, and give food to the people. The couple of times we have done it has been a rewarding experience to serve the people. I had the privilege of sharing my testimony with a group of Japanese Homeless Men. My testimony was able to be translated during that time.
At the end of the month we plan on going to help with the Relief work up North in an area called Tohuku. The area is still quite a disaster and need a lot support. A church called New Hope Church are sending missionaries every weekend to help the city. Our team is looking forward to be the hands and feet of Jesus to this city. Today we recently had an earthquake in Tokyo. The epicenter was northeast of the coast of Japan. There has been a Tsunami warning in this area. Keep this area in Japan in Prayer. For more information about the Earthquake:

Prayer Request:
Pray for the Japanese people to be safe from the Tsunami.
Pray for all the students we have spoken with. That they will come to know the true and living God.
Pray for our team. The Lord will give us the boldness to speak his word. Ephesians 6:19.
Pray for Richard Saenz & Laura Chalmers continue to be lead by the Spirit.
Pray against any hindrances or challenges the enemy tries to put infront of us.

Hey Richard, this is Blake. So you are not surprised when you go up. Tohoku is the area/region where Miyagi, Iwate, and Fukushima prefectures are at.(tohoku means The NorthEast in Japanese). Tokyo area is called Kanto.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, see you next Saturday at homeless church. Or maybe sometime this week we can meet up. I'll send you an email to your keitai if we can.
